Professional Journey
Wohid's journey in the legal landscape began as an Associate Lawyer at the prestigious law firm of Neil A. Weinrib & Associates in New York. During this time, he also took on the role of Editor-in-Chief of The MESSAGE International, a monthly journal published by the North American Muslim organization ICNA.

He then embarked on an international journey, relocating to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to assume the role of Legal Officer at the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). Here, he played a key role in executing multi-billion-dollar development projects and promoting international trade among the bank's member countries.
​
Following his tenure at IDB, Wohid joined Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), a sovereign wealth fund tasked with shaping Qatar's economic future. As a Legal Counsel at QIA, he contributed significantly to QIA's growth and prominence within the global institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds landscape.
​
While serving at QIA, Wohid's career took him to Bahrain, where he assumed the crucial position of Senior Vice President and Head of Legal & Compliance Department at United Investment Bank (UIB), which is now known as Seera Investment Bank. In this role, he oversaw high-value real estate projects, structured Shariah-compliant investment funds, and executed strategic acquisitions, enhancing the bank's compliance and operational efficiency.

Wohidul Islam's journey then led him back to Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), where he resumed his role as Legal Counsel, continuing to drive the institution's success through his expertise in investment law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
